Sentinels cut veteran JonahP and rookie Jerrwin as 2027 rebuild looms

The roster shake‑up

Sentinels North America confirmed on X that the duo of Jonah “JonahP” Pulice and Gurjiwan “Jerrwin” Gill are leaving the organization. The announcement came after Jerrwin publicly said he was free to explore options outside of Sentinels.

Thank you, Jerrwin. You were called up to do the impossible and never backed down. Proud to have you carry the torch of a Sentinels Duelist, wishing you the best going forward,

Sentinels

Thank you, JonahP. From rivals to part of the family, you were a veteran voice for the squad and forever a part of Sentinels history.

Sentinels

Both players arrived in March 2026 as part of a rebuild that filled the void left by former stars N4RRATE and Kyu. Jerrwin, a former Challenger standout with stints at Trust In Plug, SaD Esports and other NA teams, was signed as the team’s main Duelist. JonahP, a veteran who lifted The Guard to an Ascension title in 2023 and later collected regional crowns with G2 Esports, took on flex and Initiator duties.

A troubled season

The revamped roster stumbled out of the gate. In Stage 1, Sentinels posted a 2‑3 record in Group Omega, barely missing the playoff cut. Stage 2 mirrored that performance with another 2‑3 finish, relegating the squad to the Play‑Ins.

The Play‑Ins began with a 2‑0 loss to a struggling ENVY squad led by Evan Grady. Sentinels rebounded by sweeping Brazil’s 2Game Esports 2‑0, but the momentum evaporated when KRÜ Esports, the Latin America South champion, handed them a decisive 2‑0 defeat. The loss ended Sentinels’ 2026 campaign, marking the first time since 2023 the franchise failed to qualify for an international event.

Looking ahead

With JonahP and Jerrwin gone, Sentinels’ active roster now lists only three players: Yassin “Reduxx” Aboulalazm, Mohamed “johnqt” Amine Ouarid, and Gabriel “cortezia” Cortez. The organization’s coaching staff remains intact, headed by head coach Marthinus “Ewok” Jacobus Van Der Walt and assistant Luke “GUNTER” Clives, while manager Bryan “Zyto” Ybanez stays on board.

The departures constitute Sentinels’ first roster moves of the offseason, signaling a clean‑slate approach as the franchise gears up for the 2027 season.
